Project Overview

Swell Coffee Co. is a local Southern California business located in Mission Beach and Del Mar. Serving artisan coffee, they feature transparent and direct trade coffees from farms around the world. They stand behind the belief that the coffee industry has a responsibility to ensure the success of and build direct relationships with farmers who cultivate and harvest coffee. This allows roasters to work with pride and customers to sip locally with a happy conscience. 

The target audience directed towards those up early with optimistic hopes of swell lines reaching to the horizon. With that in mind we developed a retro pattern based aesthetic to represent those optimistic hopes and to accompany the buyer on the morning surf check.
